First Solo Exhibition
The exhibition title “When you see my friends from the old days, tell them I’ve scrubbed off old that old mud” is drawn from a quote by Qiu Jin, the Chinese poet and revolutionary who challenged gender roles in her time. This spirit of transformation and introspection runs through the show.
This video recaps the essence of Elio Mercer first solo exhibition. The event was held at the Farm Residency, in Denmark's countryside. Elio Mercer spent time at The Farm Residency earlier this year as an artist-in-residence, and several of the works were created during his stay there.
